If nylon attachments need replacing in only a few weeks or months time, there is a good chance that the bar may be worn. Rebuilding the worn metal with the laser is often a simple, same day procedure. Worn Hader bars, ERA’s, Bredents, and cap attachments can all be repaired with the laser welder The repair can be as simple as adding some parent metal (not solder) laser wire to the worn areas. The bar is returned overnight with the retention as good as new.

Theories on how implants should be loaded have evolved. Rigid clip bar designs can be changed over to a resilient o-ring configuration with an easy laser-weld/ reline technique. This saves the expense of having a new bar made.
